All Hail Caesar!...

60 years ago today, Jay Sarno and partner opened Caesars Palace, with funds from the Teamsters Central States Pension Fund, i.e., the Mob.

In 1969, Sarno's financial advisor was accused of having Mob connections, which caused the Nevada Gaming Control Board to force Sarno into selling Caesars Palace.

Caesars was sold to the Lum's restaurant chain, owned by the Pearlman brothers. Lums then sold off their restaurants and changed their corporate name to Caesars World, which evolved into Caesars Entertainment in 2020, Caesars World was then sold to Harrah's Entertainment, which changed its name to Caesars Entertainment, which in turn was transferred to Rici Properties, and is now being acquired by Fertitta Enterprises.

Well, why is this something to post about?

It is because we wish to say Happy 60th Anniversary to Caesars Palace and thank them for inviting the Museum of Gaming History to participate in their 60th Anniversary Celebrations.

We are excited to announce that Caesars Palace will soon become another Milestone on the "Trail of the MoGH".

More details will be announced shortly, especially the MoGH's search for Caesars Palace artifacts, memorabilia, and collectibles to be assembled into the MoGH's largest yet Trail of the MoGH Exhibit.

We express our thanks and gratitude to past CCA Secretary and past MoGH Board Member, James Hogg, for his coordinative efforts to make this happen, and we look forward to working with James as he leads this project for Caesars Palace.

That is awesome news. As the guy who has had to move our display cases in and out of the storage unit to do inventory over the past year or so, the empty space will be quite welcome
