Identification Help / Re: Sam's Town "The Killers De...

Hi Barry!

I had not previously - looks like they only sell new layouts but can't hurt to ask. I'll shoot over an email.

I'll look into the convention, I like like 5 mins from South Point so it shouldn't be too difficult to pop in and check things out. Will check DMs now!

Thank you for all of the recommendations!

Hi. That's a really cool layout. Since you're local to Vegas, have you contacted Spinetti's already? I know they sell tables and layouts, but maybe only new?

Are you coming to the CCA convention at the South Piint June 12-14? lots of folks there with historical knowledge of many casinos, suppliers, and employees. Someone is bound to be able to direct you to a good source there.

I sent you a DM a few minutes ago, which should also hit your email account, welcoming you to this group. Thanks for joining us and thanks for the great pic.

Identification Help / Sam's Town "The Killers Decenn...
Last post by suborbital - Jan 26, 2025, 09:54 PM
Hello!

Have been thinking about this for a few years but only now thought to ask:

In 2016 Sam's Town had these special Blackjack layouts to celebrate The Killers' 10 year anniversary show for their album, Sam's Town.

I'd imagine these sort of things get thrown away, but also that it's possible folks in the casino collecting community might have a lead on where you'd look to find them, or any collectors who might have one.

With that said, is anybody here familiar with or selling this particular item? Or do you know someone who knows a lot about these types of things that might have a lead? Local to Vegas if that helps.

Thanks,

Does your $5000 chip look like the one shown below? (Not mine. It's from chipguide.themogh.org website.)

If so, it's from a closed casino that was in Mesquite, NV. As encased, it was probably given out as a memento to employees or guests. Like a paper weight. It's hard to value, IMO since there's limited collectors who interests include high-value chips from a non-LV casino that's permanently encased in plastic. Strictly a guess, since I don't collect such items, but it might be in the $20-$50 range (maybe more?), but finding a niche buyer who's interested may be hard.  Again, just my opinion. Try asking at www.thechipboard.com too. Good luck. :)
