Did you get the latest Member News, sent yesterday April 15?

If not, it means we don't have a good email for you. Shoot me a note at greatoz99@yahoo.com and we'll get it corrected right away.

I made a little wager with Jerry Vergatos that if he got five new members for the CCA at his Spring show, I would personally pay him a little bounty. Jerry came through with flying colors. I have all of the signed hardcopy applications, and the dues for the first year in hand, which I will forward on to Jay Sands for membership processing, and sending the money to our treasurer, Bud Wizinski. I want to thank Jerry for stepping up and helping the CCA. He did a great job. I guess I should've made it 10 new members, huh? vbg

P.S. The conditions were that the new members can not have been active, paid members for the last five years. Renewals also don't count.

Hi Folks:

I have a question about the $1 chip with red lettering and a pic of a zebra and dates. The ChipGuide shows the chip issued in 1964 (CG019668, TCR N6719) but the open/close dates in both the ChipGuide and TCR show Opened 1945/1955, Closed 1957/1958. Obviously something isn't right. Could it be that this chip was actually released when the *New* El Morocco Club was operating (1959-1964) but the chip left off the "New" part?  I also noticed that the same is true for the $5 chip, (CG040767, TCR N7559).

I posted this question on the ChipBoard but haven't received a response, so I decided to try here.  Sure hope someone will give me some insight as to what's going on.

Thanks for your help.

Hello, and welcome to the boards.  Just so you know, BUYING and SELLING is not allowed on the CCA message boards, but TRADING is actively encouraged.  I sent you a PM asking if you were a CCA member, and if you're not, to please consider joining.  Details can be found at https://ccgtcc.com/membership.  Also, please update your "Display Name" to be your real name.  That's one of prerequisites of using the board (no anonymity).

One of our members put together a nice educational piece on valuing and buying/selling casino items.  You can read it here:

https://ccgtcc.com/education/selling_casino_collectibles.aspx

Best of luck with your collection and I hope to see you at our annual convention, June 12-14 at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

General Discussion / Michigan/ Detroit Chips Wanted
Last post by EyeInSky - Feb 26, 2025, 01:20 PM
Looking for chips from Michigan Casinos. I have many of them already but trying to get some of the cool $5 ones that are out there, specifically the ones from Greektown in Detroit.

If anyone out there has any Michigan/ Detroit related chips, please let me know!!!

I also have a bunch of chips from televised heartland poker tournament that was held at Greektown Casino many years ago. Would love to trade or sell some to anyone interested.
