I am happy to announce that I get to cross one more title off of my email signature (or as one board member calls it, my "Vanity Card"). Bob Pardue has agreed to take on the role of Promotions Director, at least for the rest of this year.
In this role, he will manage procurement of club merchandise to be sold at the convention, but more importantly...
He will be implementing an online fulfillment mechanism which will allow members to order a wider variety of items that the club logo will be printed or embroidered on and have them produced and shipped directly from the factory without the club having to buy quantities of each item, store them between shows, and haul unsold merch to and from the storage unit each year.
Bob has already produced a detailed outline of his plan, along with an analysis of several suitable vendors to make this happen. Bob's just getting cranked up, so please be patient. I'm sure he will be reporting on his progress as he moves forward.
The net result of this effort will be less carry-over (show surplus) year to year, less storage space needed, higher sales volumes and more items with our brand on them on display around the world. Please join me in welcoming Bob to this new position.
