Very interesting story.

I don't agree with the statement "I think the younger generation in general just doesn't collect things, period".

I think it is more accurate to say "younger people don't collect the same way we do".

I had research for my article in the latest newsletter (https://www.ccgtcc.com/documents/1327/Volume-6-Number-2---March-2024) that didn't make it in there:

eBay: 26,000 individual chips SOLD in the last 90 days (104,000 annually)
Facebook group "Casino Chip Collectors" has 5,000 members
Facebook group "Casino Chip Collecting" has 1,000 members
Poker Chip Forum 12,000 members; 2.3 million posts since 2013

Younger people are collecting, but aren't seeing the value in joining our club. Or meeting in a single place monthly to show things off.

It's one of the reasons we formed the Membership Growth and Engagement committee, to look for ways to modernize and have the club offer value to all collectors, not the just the ones who collect "the way we do"
