Title: Rare Showboat Poker Chip
Post by: Dbris.1989 on Feb 03, 2024, 12:41 PM
Hi,

I have a poker chip that I got from great grandpa. It's a showboat poker chip from around the 60's. I can't find any information about it, except one story about a woman who sold one for $30,000 back in 2008. The story was published in 2015 and says that it is one of only two known surviving chips. Any information anyone can provide would be appreciated!IMG_1231.jpegIMG_1232.jpeg

I don't have any info other than what you said. I'm a $5 collector, but dang that's a nice looking chip. Make it NOT $30k and I might be interested.

The eBay story is true. A life altering experience for the seller. In sudsequent years the same chip was resold (for less), but just the same, it was a strong price. Since then about 3 or 4 others have popped up and now yours. For the dollar invested by grandpa, you will do well on eBay. Good luck.

Great chip, in great condition! I have one, but it is a little beat up.  Ebay is probably best bet if you are going to sell it.
